Cultural Identity
Landscapes
Fishing occurs in a range of different landscape settings which contribute to the character and identity places. Our selection of images show fishing activity in riverine locations, such as Looe; small coves nestled amongst steep cliffs; harbours, varying from large industrial ports to small fishing harbours; shingle or sandy beaches where the boats are pulled up on the shore; and mudflats where shellfish gathering on foot often occurs.
It’s just part of the landscape here, it’s part of what Hastings is, it’s part of it’s cultural identity
