Description In the olden days, devotion played a major role in fisheries, and it still does. This is mainly because of the ongoing confrontation with the sea, which can be generous or sometimes as wild as an animal. Long days at sea with only clouds, water and the horizon, and nights with the moon, stars and lights of other ships create the perfect situation to experience some kind of spirituality. In heavy storms, a fisherman sometimes experiences God's presence as something close by or far away. At home, his wife knows what he is going through so she lights candles and prays for him.
