STARDUST II - Spatial and Temporal Assessment
of high Resolution Depth profiles Using novel Sampling Technologies The fate of pollutants in fluvial and marine sediments in cross-border zones
Tisbe furcata, T. gracilis, T. bulbisetosa, T. holothuriae, T. battagliai and an unidentified species are reported from the Sluice Dock near Ostend. The three last-named species are new to the Belgian fauna. A cross-breeding experiment between strains of T. holothuriae from Ostend and Venice (Italy) confirms perfect interfertility and hybrid F1 heterosis. Tisbe furcata, the "stumbling block" of the genus, is redescribed and an account if presented of the characteristics and ontogeny of its colour pattern.
