The Princess Elisabeth Island (PEI) will be an offshore energy island infrastructure designed to receive the electricity generated by the future offshore wind farms inside the Princess Elisabeth Zone and transport it to shore. The energy island will be located near the Natura 2000 area 'Vlaamse Banken' and may impact the soft sediment habitat in and near the protected area. This project evaluates the effects of the installation and operation of the island on the soft-sediment fauna.
