Abstract
Ten teeth of characiform fishes have been found in the Lowermost Eocene of Dormaal (Flemish Brabant, Belgium). They significantly differ from those previously described from the Lower Ecocene of the Paris Basin, and from all the Characiform teeth hitherto reported from the European Cenozoic.
