MedPAN, the RAC/SPA, the Moroccan Haut Commissariat aux Eaux et Forêts et à la Lutte contre la Diversification and many other partners organise the 2nd forum of Marine Protected Areas in the Mediterranean in Tangiers, Morocco, from 28 November to 1 December 2016.
Every 4 years, the Forum of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in the Mediterranean provides all, managers, policymakers, socio-economic actors, civil society and the scientific community, a unique dialogue opportunity to tackle the challenges of MPAs in the region. The 2016 edition of the Forum is a key milestone in view of the 2020 Aichi Targets deadline. This 4-day meeting will be an occasion to assess the progress made since the elaboration of the roadmap at the 2012 Forum and to make commitments to protect and sustainably manage 10% at least of the Mediterranean for the benefit of its territories and communities.
Marine Protected Areas are everyone’s business.
