| Abstract |
An account is given of the discovery of a whale (described in the text as Rorqualus borealis Cuvier), close to the coast of Oostende, Belgium, and of its subsequent stranding. The animal was later disseccated on the beach. 13 plates give a view on the parts of the anatomy of the stranded whale. |
