Abstract
    This study demonstrates temperature-dependent sex differentiation in goldfish. The proportions of females (all female population; XX female-XX male cross) were 94.6% at 15 degree C, 100% at 17 degree C, 94.6% at 20 degree C, 90.5% at 23 degree C, 46.5% at 25 degree C, 15.4% at 28 degree C, and 7.7% at 30 plus or minus 0.5 degree C. The sensitive period of sex differentiation shortened with temperature, the end point of the sensitive period being Day 22 at 30 degree C, and Day 27 at 23 degree C after fertilization. Photoperiod and fish density had no effects on sex differentiation.
