Verhelst, Pieterjan
Pieterjan Verhelst is a PhD student financed by the Agency for Innovation by Science and Technology in Flanders (IWT) and is affiliated with Ghent University and the Research Institute for Nature and Forest (INBO) . He studies eel (Anguilla anguilla) and cod (Gadus morhua) migration in marine, coastal and estuarine systems by means of acoustic telemetry. The tagged fish can be tracked within an acoustic receiver network, which is a cooperation between the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) , INBO and the Ghent University - Marine Biology Research Group.
