Abstract
In activated sludge systems with a high selective pressure bacteria capable of degrading APnEO's will be selected and isolated. The strains involved will be screened whether the degradative genes are located on plasmids. The effect of a direct introduction of these genes in activated sludge systems will b e studied. The mechanisms and kinetics of APnEO removal will be followed up with 14-C labelled pollutants.
