Abstract
The current state of living marine resources is recognized as a problem requiring urgent solutions. However, the selection of effective management instruments is a difficult task, since the effects of each type of instrument depends on a variety of biological, technological, economic, and social factors. By analyzing the outcomes associated with the use of alternative management regimes in over 100 fisheries in the OECD Member countries, this study for the first time provides a comprehensive assessment of their economic performance.
