Abstract
With the advent of intensive culture practices, occurrences of mass mortality caused by bacterial infections are commonplace. High doses of antibiotics or antibacterials are used in aquaculture by adding them to the water. Problems of palatability and leaching occur when the chemotherapeutic agents are incorporated in feeds. To circumvent these problems Artemia can be used as a carrier. In this study we assess the efficacy of cotrimoxazole in the oral treatment of turbot larvae challenged with a pathogenic strain of Vibrio anguillarum encapsulated in Artemia.
