| Abstract |
Two new marine podocopid ostracod species, Bishopina vangoethemi sp. nov. and Actinocythereis laingensis sp. nov. found off the Northern coast of Papua New Guinea are described. The validity of the genus Bishopina Bonaduce et al., 1976 is discussed, mainly in relation to the genus Miocyprideis Kollmann, 1958. Furthermore, the generic characteristics of Actinocythereis Puri, 1953 are discussed and are compared with those of the genus Ponticocythereis McKenzie, 1976. |
