Abstract
The discharges of sewage plants of several smaller towns and communities at the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein and their influence on the local water quality of the Wadden Sea is discussed in this paper. For this purpose, the annual variations in the concentrations of typical nutrients like ammonia, nitrate and phosphate have been determined from water samples which were taken at 14 stations in nearly weekly succession from February 1989 until present. The analyzed concentration data are presented and discussed together with the observed minimum and maximum values and their annual variations.
