Abstract
A review of the current knowledge of the cetaceans living in the eastern Mediterranean is given in this paper. Fourteen species (12 Odontoceti and 2 Mysticeti) occur or are suceptible to be found in the eastern Mediterranean. However, more data are needed to estimate the abundance of each species in this part of the Mediterranean Sea.
