Abstract
Growth and reproduction of mature females of R. h. tridentatus depend on the period of occurrence of the maturation moult. Only young adult females moult in spring; from the second reproductive cycle, each has an autumnal moult after two or three layings. Their longevity varies from 3 to 4 years.
