Abstract
Gymnophallus choledochus and G. nereicola have the same intermediate host, Nereis diversicolor. The author shows the identity of the two metacercarian microbiotops. In experimental conditions, the possibility of cohabitation of the two species in a same Nereis is pointed out. On the other hand, in natural conditions an exclusion process is observed. G. nereicola occurs mainly in the lagune area covered with Zostera nana. As we move off, N. diversicolor become scarce and poorly infected with G. nereicola. ln these Annelids with marginal distribution only, sorne metacercariae of G. choledochus can be found. Therefore, these Nereis are not often eaten by the definitive host; consequently, the life-cycle of G. choledochus is rarely closed in this place. Probably, G. choledochus is maintained in Camargue by means of migratory birds.
