Abstract
The three Pomatoschistus species coexist along the Swedish west coast during the summer and autumn. To facilitate the identification of these three similar species, some new distinctive features are presented, viz. the occurrence of chromatophores on the spleen and the pigmentation under the lower jaw. There is also a list of all Gobiidae reported from Sweden.
