Abstract
    C. crangon and P. serratus have been reared for 2 or 3 months at 20°C. The shrimps were fed on an artificial diet presented either in a dry form (pellets) or hydrated one (pastes). The survival and weight increase of the shrimps are much better with the pastes. However, the different processes for drying the food had no sensible effect on shrimp growth. The hydration level of the diet may have an influence on the ingestion rate and increase the expenditure of energy. Furthermore, a formulation for a diet more adapted to the nutritional needs of these shrimps is suggested.
