Abstract
    A. ovata is a characteristic species of the macrobenthos in the intertidal mudflats of the Golfe du Morbihan. Its length growth shows a winter slowness. The average growth can be fitted on a von Bertalanffy equation in which the parameters are: L infinity 16.10 mm and k = 0.33. The weight growth is a sigmoid curve. Reproductive activity occurs in spring and in summer when the water temperature is above 3 C. The youngest individuals to multiply are 5-6 mm long.
