Abstract
Behavior of the toxic heavy metals Cd, Pb and Cu was studied in the tropical Sierra Leone estuary and the European Ooster - and Westerscheldt estuaries during two seasons with different biological activities. In addition to trace metal levels in the dissolved state and bound to the particulate matter, the salinity and the chlorophyll content were determined.
