Abstract
Three new Ascophora bryozoans--Smittina normani sp.n., Calyptotheca canariensis sp.n. and Buffonellaria porcellanum sp.n.--are described from the Canaries. While the last two have never been recorded before, S. normani, found in Madeira, was described by Norman (1909) as a form of the British species Phylactella labrosa (Busk, 1854), with which it is undoubtedly closely related. C. canariensis and B. porcellanum have been found in the most westerly (and warm) islands of the Archipielago, and seem to be related to some tropical species.
