Abstract |
Much dune scrub contains a rich and special mycoflora. In calcareous dunes especially the older, mixed scrub with a dominance of Hawthorn and scrub composed of Creeping willow are rich in species, of which many are red listed. Some species are confined to the host species (e.g. by a symbiotic or parasitic relation), other species have a preference for scrub composed of the host and other scrub species. Scrub of Hawthorn is important for the mycoflora because of the frequent occurrence of rare and threatened species as Morche//a, Verpa, Geastrum and Myriostoma. The fringe of scrubs is usually more rich in fungi than the centre. Since no negative effects have been observed grazing of scrubs is probably beneficial to the mycoflora. The same applies to mowing of moist scrub of Creeping willow. |
