Abstract

In the present review, information about parasitic helminths (Platyhelminthes, Nematoda, and Acanthocephala) of wild birds in Ecuador is presented based on a PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis) systematic search. Data were obtained from ten scientific articles, eight undergraduate theses, and one doctoral dissertation, published between 1966 to 2022. Forty helminth taxa were recorded, and information about the host species, site of infection, and location are provided. This review serves as a compendium for future ecological and epidemiological studies on helminths in wild birds from Ecuador.
