Abstract
Two male and one female specimens of the agujon needlefish, Tylosurus acus imperialis, were collected off the south-western Adriatic coast. This finding extends the distribution of the species to the Adriatic Sea. The examination of the ripe female showed that T. acus imperialis is a multiple spawner and that its eggs have sticky filaments, as is typical of the family Belonidae.
