Abstract
    Hemigrapsus penicillatus De Haan 1835 is found on March 19, 2000 near Sas van Goes (5133' N, 0356' E) between rocks in the eulitoral, representing the first finds on the shore of the Netherlands. Two specimens (one male and one female) from the same location have been sampled on April 21, 2000 and are included in the scientific collection at the National Museum of Natural History Leiden .
