Call for ECORD Scholarships to attend an ECORD Summer School in 2012
The European Consortium for Ocean Research Drilling (ECORD) is sponsoring 10 to 15 Scholarships to allow outstanding young scientists to attend one of the three 2011 ECORD Summer Schools in Urbino, Italy, Bremen, Germany and Montreal, Canada. The Scholarships will be approx. up to 1000 €, depending on the travel distance to cover costs of registration, travel, subsistence and accommodation at the Schools.
The ECORD Scholarships are open to young scientists based in ECORD and, exceptionally to non-ECORD European countries. Preference will be given to PhD students or young post- doctoral research scientists. The review of the applications will be made by ESSAC, the ECORD Science Committee, and the decisions communicated by the end of May, 2012.
The most important document of the package is the letter of Interest, where you explore the reasons of your application and in which way the attendance of a summer school will be utile for your future scientific career.
