Abstract:
This committee (the STECF) has been created to provide input from scientific experts to help the Commission implement the common fisheries policy (CFP). It can consult these experts on all matters relating to the legislation on fishing activities and governing access to fishing zones and Community fish stocks. STECF's opinion is thus crucial for the annual setting of total allowable catches * and quotas.
