Dr Mokievsky, Vadim

Vadim Mokievsky is head of the laboratory of Coastal Benthic Ecology in P.P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology at the Russian Academy of Science (Moscow). His scientific interests lie on the border between taxonomical and ecological studies of marine benthos with special interest to meiobenthic groups. He took part in a number of research cruises and coastal expeditions, mainly, in Northern Hemisphere. Main geographical areas of the studies: the White Sea, High Arctic deep, boreal intertidal, mangroves of South-East Asia. Main taxonomic groups of interest: Nematoda and (by chance) Tardigrada. He is a member the Marine Steering Committee of the Commission for Conservation of Arctic Fauna and Flora (CAFF) and has been elected as Chairman of the International Associaciation of Meiobenthologists for the period 2017-2019. Within WoRMS, he is a taxonomic editor for the Nematodes, through the Nemys portal.
