Abstract
(1) Determine the level of metal pollution in Asterias rubens, a common super predator of the macrobenthos, in various coastal biotopes of the North Sea (open and closed estuarine branches, intertidal zone and offshore zone).

(2) Evaluate, in Asterias rubens, the flows of the most important metal pollutants.

(3) Estimate the biological effects of metal pollution in Asterias rubens.
