Abstract
A digital step gauge has been used successfully for full scale, large scale and small scale wave run-up measurements. This gauge has proven to measure wave run-up more accurately than a traditional wire gauge: the digital gauge measures 25% higher wave run-up levels than the wire gauge. The gauge has also been used for wave run-up velocity measurements.
