Abstract
A profile of unsupported 210Pb activity from a vibrocore in the middle of a channel in the Dutch Wadden Sea, recently filled in after the construction of the Afsluitdijk in 1932, showed a sedimentation rate of 6,46±0,15 cm·y-1. This is in good agreement with regularly made echosoundings, which yield a value of 7,1cm·y-1.
