Abstract
In this contribution we discuss the distribution and ecology of some Asilid flies, captured in sandy regions of Flanders, within the framework of some large invertebrate survey projects conducted at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences and the University of Ghent. A total of 14 species were found, from which several are extremely rare: Antipalus varipes, Asilus crabroniformis, Machimus arthriticu and Pamponerus germanicus. Their distribution and ecology is discussed. We also propose a Red List status for the captured species.
