Abstract
The effects of different temperatures ( 18, 21, 24, 27, and 30 ℃ ) on growth, development and metamorphism of Hydroides ezoensis larvae were studied in the present experiment. The optimum temperature for incubation of H. ezoens/s was found at 24 ℃ with the hatching rate of 85.20% ± 2.36%. The minimal hatching rate of only 1.70% ±1.70% was observed at30 ℃ with the rang as24 ℃ 〉21 ℃ 〉18 ℃ 〉27 ℃ 〉30 ℃. There was significant increase in the malformation and mortality in group 30 ℃ compared to other groups. The larvae were hatched normally from 18 ℃ to 27 ℃, the shortest incubation period of 511 minutes at 27 ℃. The larvae had a large diameter at first and then had small diameter as they developed and growth. For group under 18 ℃, all larvae died at the 12th day. Survival rates of the pelagic larvae was found to be 75.73% ±4.55%, 74.03% ±5.98%, 64.43% ±4.20%, and 58.67% ±8.54% for the groups 21, 24, 27 ℃, and 30 ℃, respectively, with the optimum metamorphic temperature of 24 ℃( metamorphic rate of 60.45% ± 7.52% ).
