Abstract
    Oyster farming in the Philippines is an essential livelihood in many coastal communities in rural areas. This study was conducted to determine the most effective oyster spat collectors such as bamboo stakes, oyster shell cultch and coconut shell cultch. The water quality parameters like, salinity, temperature, turbidity and water current were measured to determine the relationship on the collection of oyster spats from April to June. The result showed that from the three types of spat collectors, the coconut shell cultch gained the highest number of spats after three months of deployment with a total of 154 spats and a monthly average of 51 spats. The oyster shell cultch seconded it with a calculation of 79 spats and a monthly average of 26 spats, and lastly, the bamboo stakes with a total of 62 spats and a monthly average of 21 spats. Water quality on the other hand have no significant relationship on the oyster spat collection.
