Abstract
The present study demonstrates that the terminal nerve, preoptic and midbrain GnRH neuronal numbers are independent of sexual maturity, instead they are established early during development. Since KT had no effect, testosterone or its conversion to estrogen might be responsible for the change in preoptic and midbrain neuronal size, and salmon- and seabream-GnRH mRNA content.
