Abstract
The Decapoda is a large order of crustaceans, comprising more than 17,000 extant species. Since the advent of next-generation sequencing, which provides high resolution and coverage, it has become significantly faster and more cost-effective to sequence entire mitochondrial genomes. Here, we present mitochondrial genome sequences of 32 coral reef decapods, representing 10 families (Alpheidae, Galatheidae, Hippolytidae, Palaemonidae, Portunidae, Spongicolidae, Tetraliidae, Thoridae, Trapeziidae, and Xanthidae) in four infraorders (Anomura, Brachyura, Caridea, and Stenopodidea). These genomic data significantly expand decapod representation in databases that support DNA metabarcoding and related technologies.
