Abstract
This thesis presents an in-depth study of how small marine animals, the polyclad flatworms, have shaped complex evolutionary histories over millions of years. Through combined morphological and molecular approaches, describes new species to science, reveals unexpected lineages, and uncovers patterns that bring to light a hidden universe beneath the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
