From 17 to 19 September 2025, the conference of the European Marine Science Educators Association (EMSEA) will be held in Ostend, Belgium. A special edition, as it is organized in collaboration with the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ), one of the hosts of EMSEA and initiator of the very first Conference on Ocean Literacy in Europe, held in Belgium in 2012.
Joining as partners – also instrumental in advancing ocean literacy across Europe – are EMODNET, leading the European Atlas of the Seas and the EU4Ocean Platform, and EUROGOOS, another key player in ocean data and literacy initiatives.
The Call for Abstracts is open now!
You can submit your abstract by the 15th of April for a presentation (oral or poster) or for a workshop (indoor or outdoor), within one of the 7 themes of the conference:
• Ocean Literacy and the Blue Economy
• Ocean Literacy in the North Sea & Baltic Sea
• Ocean Literacy and Education
• Future of Ocean Literacy
• Ocean Literacy and Advocacy
• Ocean Literacy Research
• Open Session
Stay tuned for further details via the VLIZ news channels and the EMSEA website.
