Description
The experiments which produced this dataset were conducted to evaluate the suitability of OpenPIV to process images of sediment particles settling in water into velocity vector fields. The datasets contains images of settling sediment particles captured at different frame rates and txt files containing the velocity vectors derived with OpenPIV and their corresponding coordinates. moreThe images were recorded with an IDS camera (UI-3080 CP) fitted with a bi-telecentric lens. Originally the images were recorded at a rate of 30 frames per second. From this original image series, new series were derived by omitting images to simulate a lower frame rate. For each of these image sequences, a copy of each image (apart from the first and last) was made so that pairs of consecutive images could be created and named accordingly. The output of the OpenPIV script is standard in seperate folders and contains both txt files as png files. The latter are purely illustrative and cannot be used for further processing.
