Abstract
Overall aim is to identify genes which are associated with selection in wild populations of European sea bass. Therefore a data bank of 30,000 Expressed Sequence Tags of European sea bass is screened for Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms with bioinformatic methods. The potential markers are validated in the lab. A North Sea and Mediterranean Sea population will be tested for neutral and adaptive evolution based on a genome scan.
