Abstract
In this project, predictive models based on artificial neural networks are developed and optimised. A spatial temporal model to predict the presence of the macroinvertebrates is developed as well. Applications for river management are examined. Data from Flemish ecological and hydrological databases are used as well as data obtained from monitoring of the Zwalm River basin.
