Abstract
The mysid Neomysis americana (S.I. Smith, 1873), native from the East coast of North America, was recorded for the first time in European waters in The Netherlands 8 years ago. This species was observed for the first time on the French coast in the Seine estuary (Normandy) in 2017. As for The Netherlands, this species has probably been introduced on the French coast by shipping in ballast waters.
