| Abstract |
In 1988 and 1989 an intensive survey was carried out on the occurrence of fish diseases in the German part of the Wadden Sea. This atlas summarizes all types of externally visible diseases and parasites which were recorded during this project. Mechanically induced lesions, pigment anomalies, skeletal deformities, tumours, tumour-like diseases, ulcerative diseases and nine groups of parasites are included. The description of the frequently occurring disease types follows the same scheme: disease names, host species, external signs, causes, geographical distribution, relation to fish length, seasonality, effects on host, histopathology, remarks, and literature. |
