Abstract
Sanidastra yokotonensis Volkmer-Ribeiro & Watanabe 1983 was known till now only from the type locality in the eastern Japan. We refer here on three new findings from running waters of Corsica and Sardinia Islands. The diagnostic characters of our specimens, such as spicules morphology and gemmule structure, fit well with those of the original description. The peculiar disjunct distribution is intriguing and we propose some hypotheses to explain it. We discuss also some aspects of the systematic position of this species.
