Abstract
    The super-species Jaera albifrons includes 5 species. Some of them include several forms that differ by the sexual variants of their male pereiopods. An important variability of biometrical, polychromatical and cytogenetical characters is superimposed upon this diversity. The conceptions on the speciation of Jaera albifrons and the principal problems on work on the subject are summarized.
