Abstract
The species of the subfamily Seilinae, occurring in Neogene deposits of the North Sea basin and in Aquitaine, Touraine and Brittany (France) are revised. Their shells with protoconchs are described and figured. Four new taxa are named: Seila (Hebeseila) suttonensis n. sp., S. (Hebeseila) sancticlementi n. sp., S. (Cinctella) trilineata andagavensis n. subsp. and S. (Sella) selsoifensis n. sp. Their attribution to subgenera and genera is discussed. Other Neogene European Seilinae are discussed and described, if material with protoconchs has become available.
