Abstract
My task is to write software to:
    1. Control the water level on two places in the Scheldt river scale model.
    2. Log water level and -speed measurements.

The user interface can run in three modes:
    1. Manual mode: The user can set the level of the two valves between -15m and +5m. He can set thebutterfly valve between 0% and +100%.
    2. Auto mode: The computer uses a control algorithm to obtain the chosen water level.
    3. Tide mode: The user chooses a tide file with a number of successive set points. The computerinterpolates and uses the set points in a control algorithm. This results in a level cycle betweenebb-tide and flood-tide. This is called a tracking system.

A second window allows you to log measurements:
On several places in the model of the river, sensors measure the level and the speed of the water.During the simulation of the tides, the measurements can be logged frequently. The user can choosethe channels to log, set a scanning frequency, choose a log file, start and finally stop the logging. Astrip chart allows a quick compare.

This software is made with National Instruments' LabWindows/CVI (C for virtual instrumentation).Fieldpoint modules are used for data acquisition between the computer and sensors / actuators.
