Abstract
    The distribution of the cowry Mauritia maculifera SCHILDER 1932 is discussed. Mauritia maculifera andreae n. ssp. from the Philippines differs from the other three subspecies by the reduction or absence of acompact basal blotch, by often having fine paler transverse lines and spots in the darker dorsal pattern, and by numerous, subtle morphological differences.
