Abstract
    A brief overview of the Stromboid subgenus Laevistrombus Kira, 1955 is given and itssituation in the Solomon Islands is discussed. A new record for the already rich fauna of the SolomonIslands is added with the first find of Strombus (Laevistrombus) guidoi Man in 't Veld & De Turck,1998.
